A After feeling a deep sense of connection through the gorilla’s soulful eyes, I began observing them closely at The Franklin Park Zoo, in Boston. Seeking refuge in their deep sense of knowing, I connected to the feeling of captivity. They possessed thoughtfulness and reflection, insecurity, mistrust, dominance, moodiness, humorously loving, a devotion to nurture. I marveled at their endurance that paralleled the human struggle so familiar to me. The gorillas lovingly became the muse I yearned for in my desire to express my inner emotions.
